Camps That Care

Last year, we at the Good Sam Club surveyed our members and the employees of our parent corporation, Affinity, about supporting a potential charity project. Both members and employees indicated that they’d like to support a cause that helps children and is oriented toward the outdoors.

We believe we’ve found the perfect combination with a program called Hole in the Wall Camps.

Hole in the Wall Camps was founded in 1988 by the late actor Paul Newman as a place for children with serious medical con-ditions to enjoy nature. With the mantra “Laughter Is the Best Medicine,” Hole in the Wall Camps gives children affected by life-threatening medical conditions a week away at camp at no cost to their families.

Tell Me About Tailgating

I've never done it but I think I would like it. I like the idea of going to a football game and having the parking lot party. But I don't think I would like preparing food and having to get everything cleaned and put away before it's time to go in to the game. I think that tailgating after the game would be better. But my guess is after an NFL game they would like for you to get out of their parking lot in a timely manner.

On TV I see people preparing tons of food. Who are they cooking for? If we were tailgating at a game it would be just the 2 of us, or maybe our grown kids, but certainly not a huge crowd. For just the 2 of us I don't see the point in going to all that trouble for a meal, then having to hurry to get everything picked up before game time.
